  • Robert Briggs & Associates Ltd was formed by Bob Briggs in 2000 to provide systems and software engineering services, including project and programme management. Since then it has grown to include Interim Management, Expert Witness and Strategic Business Analysis services.

    Bob has over 30 years experience as a systems/software engineer with companies such as South Australian Railways, Redifon Flight Simulation, ICL, Marconi, MEL, Sema Group and BAeSema Ltd. Bob initially trained as an avionics engineer and then moved on to work on railway telecommunications, flight simulators, computer communications, defence systems (radar, command and control and ESM), military logistics and transportation systems (road, rail and air).

    During his career Bob progressed to team, then group leadership roles with Marconi before moving to various project and technical management roles at MEL, EASAMS and BAeSEMA. He has managed software specification and/or development on systems as large and diverse as:

  • the UK Air Defence Ground Environment (UKADGE)
  • the Martello Radar Display and Control System
  • The Air Defence Command Information System (ADCIS
  • the National Air Traffic Flow Management System(NATFMS)
  • the Logistic Support System (LSS) for the introduction of Eurofighter

    At BAeSEMA he project managed the development of the requirements specifcation for the New Scottish Centre for NATS. He was awarded a British Aerospace Innovation Award for the requirements engineering process used on this project.

    Bob left BAeSEMA in 1997 to join Ascent Logic (UK) Ltd where he delivered a number of assignments providing in-house training and process consultancy for users of the RDD100 System Engineering tool. During this time he became Ascent Logic·s highest consultancy revenue earners. He left Ascent Logic to start his own business in March 2000.
